Usability, Accessibility, and Accommodations Guidelines (UAAG)

Apr 24, 2023

The Usability, Accessibility, and Accommodations Guidelines (UAAG) provides an overview of the universal tools, designated supports, and accommodations allowable on the all ISAT assessments.  Although this is a Smarter Balanced document that speaks specifically to the  English language arts/literacy and mathematics (math) assessments, it is also applicable to the ISAT science assessment. The Guidelines are intended for school-level personnel and decision-making teams, particularly Individualized Education Program (IEP), 504 Plan, and English Learning Plan (ELP) teams, as they prepare for and administer the ISAT. The Guidelines provide information for classroom teachers, English development educators, special education teachers, and related services personnel to use in selecting and administering universal tools, designated supports, and accommodations for those students who need them. The Guidelines are also intended for assessment staff and administrators who oversee the decisions that are made in instruction and assessment.
