About Sample/Training Tests:

The purpose of the sample tests is to become familiar with the system, functionality, and item types; the tests are not intended to guide classroom instruction. The responses are not saved.

Some Students may have difficulty with some of the content aligned to higher grades within the grade level/subject range of each sample/training test; nevertheless, this should not interfere with student's ability to interact with an item for its intended training purpose. If an item appears to be too difficult, encourage students to experiment with the tools, choose the best answer and move on to the next item.

ISAT Sample/Training Tests:

These Sample and Training tests are not automatically scored by the system, do not follow a specific test blueprint, and do not produce score reports. Scoring guides are located here.

  • ISAT Sample Tests:
    • These sample tests provide students with a grade-specific testing experience that is similar in format and structure to the Summative tests and include one performance task per each subject.
  • ISAT Training Tests:
    • These training tests provide students with the opportunity to experience most features, functionality, and item types included on the Summative tests.

IDAA Sample Tests:

Students that work independently should be encouraged to experiment with the tools and explore the student interface, so they are comfortable with the system for the IDAA assessments. For students that will participate in this assessment with guided directions, teachers can use the sample tests to familiarize themselves with the test administration process. The student responses are not scored.
