About Sample/Training Tests:

The purpose of the sample tests is to become familiar with the system, functionality, and item types; the tests are not intended to guide classroom instruction. The responses are not saved.

Some Students may have difficulty with some of the content aligned to higher grades within the grade level/subject range of each sample/training test; nevertheless, this should not interfere with student's ability to interact with an item for its intended training purpose. If an item appears to be too difficult, encourage students to experiment with the tools, choose the best answer and move on to the next item.

ISAT Sample/Training Tests:

The ELA/L and Math Sample and Training tests are not automatically scored by the system, do not follow a specific test blueprint, and do not produce score reports. Scoring guides are located here.

The Science Sample tests can be scored by the system. After answering at least one question, click on the Context Menu and select “Item Score”. The science sample tests do not follow a specific test blueprint. Scoring guides are located here.

  • ISAT Sample Tests:
These sample tests provide students with a grade-specific testing experience that is similar in format and structure to the Summative tests and include one performance task per each subject.
  • ISAT Training Tests:
These training tests provide students with the opportunity to experience most features, functionality, and item types included on the Summative tests.

IDAA Sample Tests:

Teachers and students are encouraged to become familiar with the IDAA item types and the tools available in the test interface well before students take the IDAA in the spring. Sample tests are available in ELA, Mathematics, and Science in elementary, middle, and high school grade bands. Practice test items include human voice recordings. Teachers administer the practice tests in a one-on-one setting with each student in the same way the IDAA is administered. Student responses are not scored.

  • Practice Test Directions:
Review the Practice Test Directions for instructions related to accessing and administering the IDAA Sample tests.
